Job summary

The Red Hat Sales team is looking for an Inside Sales Account Manager to join us in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will guide sales activities within our high-growth accounts in the commercial territory. You'll be assigned a specific territory and be responsible for uncovering, nurturing, progressing, and closing new sales opportunities for our entire portfolio of offerings. You’ll sell our innovative solutions to businesses ready to adopt more open source technology as they modernize their IT and introduce new customers to the many ways Red Hat’s solutions can give them a competitive advantage. You'll work closely with our extensive channel partner network while contributing to the commercial strategy with a variety of internal sales stakeholders. You’ll need to have good teamwork skills, as you will work as part of the named Inside Sales team to spread our open source story.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Position and sell Red Hat’s solutions directly and through channel partners to customers

  • Call on prospective customers and identify potential opportunities with partners

  • Create and guide account plans with Channel account managers and relevant partners to accelerate Red Hat’s multiproduct strategies

  • Manage the sales pipeline and create incremental net-new business

  • Provide technical and administrative information, demonstrations, and quotes on appropriate customer prices for our offerings

  • Manage forecasts, help partners close deals, and track customer opportunities using company-standard customer relationship management (CRM) tools

  • Field phone calls from prospective and existing customers and partners

  • Grow existing partner relationships and promote sales programs developed for and with partners

  • Participate in internal sales training and certification programs to maintain high knowledge of and proficiency in Red Hat’s offerings and industry trends

Required skills

  • 6+ years of experience carrying and meeting a sales quota

  • Ability to connect with people and understand their challenges

  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a high attention to detail

  • Good organizational skills with an ability to learn things quickly and adapt to changing situations

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Capability to build relationships with only a phone call or the first meeting

  • Ability to translate complex ideas into simple, understandable terms

  • Experience selling highly technical solutions and knowledge of the complete sales cycle from prospecting to closing

  • Experience successfully managing a sales pipeline and forecast

  • Proven success promoting sales strategies through and with partners, preferably in a similar sales territory
