RedHat Technical Graphics Designer in Bangalore, India

Job summary

The Red Hat Global Learning Services (GLS) team is looking for an experienced Technical Graphic Designer to join us in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will support the visual design and development of technical training through diagrams, concept graphics, screen shots, and motion graphics. You will work in an agile environment with multiple technical project teams to clarify and develop Red Hat brand aligned graphics for use in a range of mediums, including HTML, slides, print materials, and video. The ability to create and recommend graphical treatments in collaboration with the project teams, using clear and effective communication is key to success in this role.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Work with content writers to conceptualize and design graphics and update graphics in alignment with the Red Hat brand

  • Deliver highly creative graphic designs for multiple projects within the project timelines

  • Ensure that final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on brand

  • Maintain a library of graphics that can be easily accessible by the curriculum team

  • Develop and maintain relationships with other Red Hat departments who also create graphics

  • Provide quick and creative graphic solutions for traditional print and electronic mediums, including student guides, slides, videos, presentations, and other digital solutions

Required skills

  • 4-5+ years of experience creating technically focused graphics

  • Familiarity with design software and technologies e.g. Adobe creative suite like InDesign, Acrobat, Illustrator, Acrobat, After Effects, and Premiere

  • Deep understanding of visual design principles and processes like typography, iconography, composition, color, layout, etc.

  • Experience with both print and electronic media

  • Ability to design and innovate in a highly collaborative virtual team setting across multiple time-zones and multiple projects

  • Fluent English language skills; ability to communicate effectively with global teams to understand requirements and provide updates

The following are considered a plus:

  • Degree in design, fine arts or related field

  • Experience using GitHub, Zenhub, Jira, and XML based content editors

  • Skilled at building 2D animations and motion graphics to illustrate sequence and relationships for delivery in HTML

  • Experience using Linux operating system
