Job summary

The OpenShift Engineering Automated Release Tooling team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us in Berlin, Germany. In this role, you will work as a member of a small team responsible for creating, operating, improving, and maintaining the systems used to build, test, and release Red Hat OpenShift. You’ll become deeply familiar with the build system to ensure that the releases of our offerings and critical fixes are delivered on time to customers. As a Software Engineer, you will identify areas of improvement by thoroughly analyzing build results and later create instrumentation for automatic error and latency discovery. Primary job responsibilities

  • Operate build systems

  • Investigate, debug, and provide guidance for fixing failing builds

  • Integrate new components into build systems

  • Support Quality Engineering (QE) teams

  • Support Development team’s testing builds

  • Demo automation improvements

  • Document build processes

Required skills

  • Solid proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Fedora Linux-based operating systems

  • Experience with Jenkins pipelines

  • Experience working with and debugging complex interconnected systems

  • Proficient in building Python CLI applications

  • Experience with Git and working in teams on GitHub

  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes and writing Dockerfiles is a big plus

  • Experience with the Golang programming language is a plus
