Job summary

Become part of Red Hat’s community aiming at creating more open and engaging organizations. The Red Hat Open Innovation Labs team is looking for an Open Leadership Coach to join our diverse global team in Boston, MA. In this role, you will seek out ways in which to help our customers on their journey to become an open organization. You’ll be a part of team building open technologies to enable the transformations resulting from changing environments. You will help us make customers understand our open culture and create an environment designed to stimulate innovations in an intensive, immersive fashion. As an Open Leadership Coach, you’ll support the transformation journey of our customers at the Labs residencies where we rapidly build new software and modernize existing applications, creating tangible business outcomes and putting together high performing product teams for our customers. You’ll need to believe that open organizations have the power to adapt to fast-changing complex environments and that open tools work best in the hands of open organizations.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Serve as a community leader in a growing and vibrant community of open leadership practitioners

  • Contribute to Red Hat’s open leadership and open organization community practices; serve an as an Open Organization Ambassador

  • Make research in the field of open organizations, open leadership, and participatory management practices

  • Coach leaders of organizations and teams engaging with the Red Hat Labs

  • Serve as a change facilitator for organizations embarking on a cultural change journey with the Red Hat Labs

  • Work as part of the Red Hat Labs to catalyse and facilitate change and open organization principles among our customers adopting Red Hat’s technologies

  • Provide organizational assessment and open organization diagnostics to develop a product strategy roadmap for our customers

  • Provide continued counsel beyond the Labs residency to catalyse transformation at a greater scale in customers organizations

  • Lead the creation of materials to support the open leadership offering, including workshops and learning activities, and share results, best practices, and learnings in open forums, including blogs, book authorings, and public speakings to establish thought leadership

  • Guide the adoption of open leadership principles, including decision-making, change management, and team organization

Required skills

  • Postgraduate degree in organizational psychology, behavioral science, or economics

  • Experience in implementing a cultural change or culture transformation in organizations

  • Current practitioner in the area of organizational learning and development

  • Coaching and facilitation skills at an expert level; proven record of executive coaching is a plus

  • Ability to create and deliver highly interactive workshop materials

  • Willingness to travel weekly to customer locations approximately 50% of the time, including some global travel
