Job summary

Build new customer relationships while expanding and improving business with our existing customers. The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Public Sector Sales Account Manager to join us in Boston, MA. In this role, you'll work within your geographic territory, industry vertical, or specific technology, and help your customers do more with less. If you like to travel and enjoy working with partner sales and services organizations, as well as IT and business executives, this is the team for you. This position specifically is to cover the United States Air Force, with customer bases primarily at Hanscom Air Force Base.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Sell Red Hat's complete portfolio of solutions within assigned enterprise accounts

  • Promote Red Hat's value proposition to prospective customers within a highly competitive market

  • Manage complex sales cycles from prospecting to closing

  • Maintain and develop new relationships within your assigned accounts

  • Excel within a fast-paced organization

Required skills

  • 7-10 years of sales experience within the software space

  • Experience selling in both direct and partner models

  • Knowledge of and passion for open source technology

  • Ability to call widely into your accounts in the areas of application development, architecture, operations, C-level leadership, and lines of business

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the market and of competitive opportunities in the United States Air Force

  • Demonstrated history of exceptional quota attainment

  • Solid understanding of middleware and cloud technology

  • Secret, Top Secret, or Top Secret and Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance preferred
