RedHat Enterprise Content Librarian Internship in Brno, Czech Republic

Job summary

The Red Hat Portfolio Product Marketing team, which plays a critical role in areas like Products and Technologies (PnT) communications, portfolio themes, and thought leadership, among others, is looking for an Enterprise Content Librarian Intern to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will help manage internal company assets, providing skills in content and digital asset management, e.g., taxonomy, indexing, cataloging, archiving, metadata tagging, and content management systems (CMSs). You will work with the users of the CMS (currently the PnT Portal) to support their use and navigation around the solution, partnering with IT to address issues as needed. As an Enterprise Content Librarian Intern, you will serve as the first point of contact for the users and you will collaborate in order to understand their working processes and requirements. You will also need to work closely with other content teams across the company to ensure that consistent standards are used. You’ll have the opportunity to work with teams across the company, including those that design, build, market, sell, and support Red Hat’s offerings. You’ll need to enjoy learning new things, communicating with stakeholders across multiple regions, and working with all areas of the business.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Partner with the primary librarian, serving as a gatekeeper of a highly dynamic CMS with a responsibility to ensure content quality and implementation of processes and workflow adjustments, including repository maintenance, managing section ownership, expiration workflow, and monitoring log messages

  • Triage support tickets from users, following up with IT as needed for development assistance

  • Provide support to users with publishing, updating, extending, archiving, and sharing content, providing rights for the system and training for new users and new features

  • Partner with IT, working with UX designer and developers, to ensure the system functions properly, updates are applied and tested, and new functionalities are tested and implemented

  • Assist with operations assignments, which can include training and development, project management, and reporting

  • Create regular reports and provide or assist with reports on demand

Required skills

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university program in the Czech Republic

  • Solid interest in and some experience with technology, digital asset management, library science, or a related field

  • Some experience working with metadata and CMSs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Ability to work as part of a dynamic, globally distributed team, while demonstrating flexibility and initiative

  • Currently enrolled in a Czech university

  • Experience working as a digital reference librarian, an interface designer, an enhanced service provider for digital collections in libraries, or a webmaster in libraries and other organizations is a plus

  • Proficiency in office suite tools, preferably G Suite, is a plus
