Job summary

The Red Hat Training Online Platforms team is looking for a Full Stack Developer to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will help create the next generation of cloud-delivered Red Hat training platforms. You’ll help us build, maintain, and enhance platforms to support our online training content and keep them innovative, efficient, and constantly evolving. As a Full Stack Developer, you will work as part of a collaborative global team to produce the best systems to support our customers’ needs.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Work on several exciting and innovative projects related to our training platforms that enable learners to take online learning on Red Hat’s offerings and technologies through many different forums

  • Help us build a next-generation platform that provides the ability to take training through HTML, readable content, practical labs for real-time exercises, high definition video, instructor prerecorded videos, or downloadable PDF guides for offline access

  • Work with the team to design, develop, implement and support the existing platform as well as to create new features and functionality

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of experience working in software development and engineering

  • 2+ years of experience programming in JavaScript and HTML5

  • Experience developing single-page apps (SPAs)

  • Experience working with RESTful APIs in Python

  • Comfortable with Linux at the command line; Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certifications are a plus

  • Experience with collaborative open source development using tools like Git, Sass, and webpack

  • Solid frontend and UI experience using JavaScript and related tools

  • Good understanding of how to design and code applications to maximize the user experience

The following are considered a plus:

  • Experience developing in React.js; familiarity with React Hooks and Context

  • Experience with responsive web design and development

  • Experience implementing progressive web apps

  • Experience with design tools like Sketch and rapid prototyping UX tools

  • Experience integrating third-party services like chat and user segmentation tools

  • Experience with object-oriented programming (OOP) practices

  • Comfortable working with Docker and Red Hat OpenShift

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a technology-related field

  • Experience working with learning management systems, SCORM, and Tin Can

  • Data management experience, e.g., visualizing reporting data

  • Experience with agile development and open source projects
