RedHat Associate IT Support Engineer in Pune, India

The Red Hat Sales team is looking for an Associate IT Support Engineer to join us in India. In this role, you will provide support for Red Hat cloud-based lab and demo environments. You’ll provide technical end user support to partner and Red Hat’s solutions architects and consultants using Red Hat lab and demo environments. As an Associate IT Support Engineer, you will gain a deep understanding of our solutions portfolio, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat CloudForms, Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat Virtualization, and related technologies.
Primary job responsibilities
Work within a ticketing system to resolve partner issues
Field support requests from end users
Perform Level 1 issue identification and fixes where feasible
Escalate issues when necessary to team members and vendors
3+ years of IT industry experience with 1+ year(s) of experience with Linux, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), system configuration, and administration
1+ year(s) of experience with virtualization, e.g., VMware, Red Hat Virtualization or KVM, Zen, or Microsoft Hyper-V
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification, or equal combination of skills and experience
Familiarity with scripting languages like PHP, Ruby, Python, or Bash
Familiarity with REST APIs
Help desk experience
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with others to solve problems for Red Hat’s associates and partners
Knowledgeable about and familiar with open source technologies and industry trends relating to open source as well as the cloud marketplace
Excellent time management, decision-making, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
Ability to work in a remote office environment
Knowledge of Linux containers and container orchestration is a plus
