Job summary

The Red Hat Sales team is looking for an application development and middleware-focused Presales Solutions Architect to join us in Puteaux, France. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert for Red Hat's solutions to help our customers transform their IT and modernize their applications. You’ll focus on Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) tools like Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, next generation applications runtimes and architecture, and microservices and integration, including API management and enterprise service buses (ESBs). You will be at the core of our open hybrid cloud strategy, creating possibilities, solving problems, and establishing working relationships with our customers. You’ll also discover and analyze customer business and technical needs and collaborate with the Sales and Technical Delivery teams and account solutions architects to help them invest wisely in the best solutions from across Red Hat’s solutions portfolio. As a Presales Solutions Architect, you will be a crucial part of the first experience our customers have with Red Hat.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Ensure that revenue quota, deployment, and service objectives are met while maintaining a high level of satisfaction among existing and prospective customers

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to help ensure that Red Hat's objectives are met; counter competitive threats and resolve issues

  • Present Red Hat’s solutions and technical proposals to existing and prospective customers

  • Perform detailed architecture pitches and reviews

  • Demonstrate and carry out complex proofs of concepts

  • Become a domain subject matter expert and develop relationships with key customers

  • Speak at industry conferences, partner events, public marketing events, and webinars

  • Collect, prioritize, and build a case based on multiple accounts; show trends to identify gaps and untapped opportunities in our offerings and solutions, and map future market opportunities

  • Create whitepapers and blog posts; build analyst relationships

  • Guide the gathering of architecture, design, and presentation of solutions to meet customer needs through workshops and other activities

  • Research and write responses to technical sections of requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposals (RFPs)

  • Support presales workshops, demonstrations, proofs of concepts, evaluations, and benchmarks

  • Contribute to the team effort by sharing knowledge, documenting customer success stories, helping maintain the team lab environment, and participating in subject matter expert team initiatives

  • Participate in product trainings and complete ongoing continuing education requirements to grow and enhance your skills

  • Attend internal meetings with Engineering, Product Management, and other teams to provide information, presentations, demos, or other crucial feedback for our offerings

Required skills

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and documentation skills

  • Experience as a sales engineer, IT architect, or in an equivalent role dealing with enterprise accounts

  • Ability to interpret customer business and technical needs and provide adapted solutions

  • Understanding of complex enterprise solutions and architectures

  • Experience working with system integrators (SIs)

  • Solid skills and experience with cloud paradigms, concepts, and technologies

  • Knowledge of containers and middleware, especially around integration and namely the enterprise service buses (ESBs) and API management

  • Knowledge of applications development and delivery cycle

  • Knowledge of open source Container-as-a-Service (CaaS) is a plus
