Red Hat UX Designer, Open Innovation Labs in Puteaux, France

The Red Hat Consulting Services team is looking for a User Experience (UX) Designer to join us in Puteaux, France. In this role, you will work on the innovative applications developed in Red Hat Open Innovation Labs engagements. Throughout the life cycle of a residency or a project, you will be responsible for all aspects of the UX or user interface (UI), including user research, rapid prototyping, wireframing, interaction design, usability, and heuristics testing. You will persuade the development team and coach the customer decision-makers in delivering a compelling design. As a UX Designer, you will need to have practical experience and willingness to coach our customers across a variety of engagements.
Primary job responsibilities
Participate in the definition of a structured approach to user research, rapid prototyping, wireframing, interaction design, visual design, front-end coding, usability testing and analytics in customer engagements for Red Hat Open Innovation Labs
Coach the product team in Lean UX methodology, this includes developers as well as decision-makers on both Red Hat and customer side
Perform user research to uncover unmet user needs
Lead design workshops, design sprints, research sprints and other design-thinking practices
Build rapid prototypes or wireframes to facilitate the validation of major assumptions, hypotheses, and align the team on the key aspects of the offering
Comfortably articulate required balance between persuasive and ethical design
Cooperate with front-end coders to create a stunning end-result
Help define testing strategy; plan and implement usability tests
Use qualitative and quantitative data in working with product owners on prioritization of issues
Participate in the creation of an ever-evolving framework of design standards and patterns for making good design decisions
Support the presales process for evaluation and scoping of solutions
Support the presales process via creating visually appealing presentations
Provide visuals design in customer projects
Advise customers on both the big picture as well as the details of UX or UI
Champion human-centered design both internally and externally
Several years of relevant UX design experience, working with a human-centered design approach
Comfortable with customer-facing and advisory roles
Ability to enthusiastically plan and facilitate workshops to solve design problems with a team
Ability to create visually appealing design of information technology (IT) applications and presentations
Willingness to travel weekly to customer locations throughout France and be on-site for the duration of a residency, usually working 4 days on-site and 1 day remotely, with the readiness to occasionally support the Labs business in the Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region
Proficiency in both French and English is a plus
Experience with Lean UX approach
Experience coaching and mentoring UX designers
Experience working closely with developers or pairing with developers
Experience with rapid prototyping, wireframing, and paper prototyping
Good knowledge of both persuasive and ethical design
Good knowledge of accessibility within IT development of offerings
Experience with agile software development
Thought leadership in UX with desire to blog, present at conferences and events, and deliver training and coaching to upcoming designers
Experience with both B2B and B2C environments
Experience with web analytics and data-informed design
