Job summary

Use your experience in analysis and reporting of event data to help us make better decisions at Red Hat. The Red Hat Marketing Events team is looking for an Associate Manager focused on event operations to join us in Raleigh, NC or remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, tracking progress, and outcomes across Red Hat’s global events. You’ll track progress across various key performance indicators (KPIs) around growth, efficiency, ROI, and Net Promoter Score (NPS). As an Associate Manager, you will report progress and key insights at regular intervals, making adjustments to plans as necessary. You’ll be responsible for contract negotiation with our vendors and for looking for areas where to cut unnecessary program spend.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Actively and accurately manage large budgets and forecasts, revenue strategy, purchase orders, accounts receivable, and final budget reconciliation with the Finance and Accounting teams

  • Rally cross-functional associates across the company globally to contribute to the team effort; unify key stakeholders on event strategy and success criteria upfront

  • Lead discussions across all workstreams to develop success criteria and goals, project plans and requirements, and overall efficiency and seamless implementation

  • Develop and carry out effective and integrated engagement marketing campaigns to guide maximum demand and brand awareness to external audiences

  • Lead vendor selection process, including RFPs, contract negotiation, and implementation with the Procurement and Legal teams for registration platforms, content management, event data analytics platform, one-on-one meeting management tool, online management tool, and mobile app

  • Manage outside contractors, agencies, and vendors to provide a seamless and exceptional customer experience

  • Partner closely with global counterparts to replicate successes, share best practices, and build a cohesive global brand experience in regard to global platforms across our event programs

  • Oversee demand generation strategy with cross-functional marketing teams to ensure seamless organization to achieve event marketing metrics (opens, clickthroughs, deliverability, registrations, etc.); develop and analyze marketing campaigns, make recommendations for enhancing effectiveness, and report on all qualitative and quantitative results

  • Evaluate current methodologies and generate proposals to improve processes, increase efficiencies, and ultimately enhance our overall conference strategy and production value

  • Stay up to date on the latest event and engagement marketing best practices, approaches, innovations, and technologies; share your insights with key stakeholders across the company

Required skills

  • 5-7 years of successful experience in event platform management or event marketing

  • Experience working in a B2B software company or a supporting event agency and working cross-functionally

  • Solid project management skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within agreed-upon timeline and budget

  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and management skills

  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to understand and use company objectives to lead the theme of events and integrated marketing campaigns

  • Efficient and effective meeting management skills through goal-oriented discussions to deliver timely, collaborative, and overall the best possible outcomes

  • Extremely organized, motivated, and detail-oriented

  • Metrics-focused with solid analytical thinking skills

  • Ability to use customer relationship management (CRM), data visualization, and marketing automation systems
