The Red Hat Information Technology (IT) team is looking for a Business Analyst Intern to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will work as part of the IT Enterprise Application Integration team. You’ll be responsible for documenting system and data integration processes, create data mapping documents, assist engineers with technical documentation, and represent the team in functional design discussions. As a Business Analyst Intern, you will contribute to the team’s capabilities by demonstrating solid understanding of off-the-shelf and custom software, the software development life cycle, initiative, creativity, learning, sharing, and teamwork while collaborating with globally distributed team members and stakeholders. This role is part of Red Hat’s 2020 summer intern program, which begins in mid May and runs for 12 weeks.
Primary job responsibilities
Gather and document business requirements impacting application integration services
Write clearly defined user stories which enable engineers to complete development tasks
Create business process, technical, logical, or data architecture diagrams
Collaborate with engineers on technical documentation
Maintain content management repositories
Ability to work full-time hours during summer 2020 in the location listed
Currently enrolled in graduate or undergraduate, degree-seeking program, or planning to graduate no sooner than December 2019; preference will be given to students enrolled in bachelor’s or master’s degree program majoring in information systems management or similar curriculum
Solid familiarity with a range of technologies; demonstrated capacity to quickly learn new technology
Expertise with a variety of documentation tools like LibreOffice, Microsoft Office, Google Docs, etc., including diagramming and slide deck tools
Familiarity with agile development processes and related tools is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
