Job summary

The Red Hat Global Business Finance team is looking for a Financial Analyst to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will partner with the Global Strategic Programs team, providing insights through reports and analytical data to ensure the best decision-making process within the area of support. You'll work alongside peers on-site and with the global management teams.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Guide plan, forecast, and support business decisions based on business strategy, ROI, and profit and loss (P&L) considerations including expenses, human capital (HC), productivity, profitability, etc.

  • Run reports and provide analytics to the leadership team on topics related to financial results, investment results, budgets, etc.

  • Participate in monthly financial closes; review entries and analyze impacts and give inputs for corrections if needed

  • Collaborate with other finance teams to ensure that P&L is accurate (accounting, revenue, etc.)

  • Partner with business and cost center managers to ensure full support and transparency

  • Support consistent ROI metrics globally for all initiatives and programs that run in this area

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, business administration, or finance

  • 5+ years of financial planning experience; preferably in the IT industry

  • Understanding of accounting processes

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills

  • Solid spreadsheet skills with proven experience managing large data sets and building models with sensitivity analysis; prior experience with Hyperion and Oracle is a plus

  • Attention to detail, accuracy, formatting, and presentation of team deliverables

  • Ready to consistently work extended hours during periods of high demand
