The IT Document Management and Collaboration team is looking for a talented Full Stack Web Developer Intern to join our development team this summer in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for content creation, curation, and retention as well as tooling to enable Red Hatters to collaborate with each other.
Primary job responsibilities
Use Python, Bash, and Perl for scripting when necessary
Participate in a variety of projects and work on multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work full-time hours during summer 2020 in the location listed
Proficiency in modern web development
Proficiency in Java; Spring Boot experience is a plus
Ability to read and interpret set of requirements into tasks
Understanding of modern web technology, including HTML5, DOM, CSS, AJAX, cookies, sessions, etc.
Ability to diagnose issues and debug web applications
Familiarity with distributed source control tools like Git, including branching and merging
Ability to plan and develop public-internal Web APIs using related technologies, including, REST, JSON, XML, XSLT, etc.
Solid prioritization and time management skills
The following are considered a plus:
Experience with Python, Bash, and Pearl scripting
Experience with Docker or other containerization
Understanding of web security and common exploits, including CSRF, XSS, SQL injection, etc.
Experience with Jive, Google Apps, Alfresco, ServiceNow, Lucidworks, or Apache Solr
Experience creating or modifying existing open source projects
Knowledge of a Linux operating system
Experience designing for or writing components for an ESB or SOA
Understanding of distributed transactions
Knowledge of the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) top ten
Scrum or other agile, cross-functional team experience
Experience with Linux system administration
