RedHat Instructional Design Internship - Enterprise Data and Analytics in Raleigh, North Carolina

The Red Hat Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) team is looking for an Instructional Design Intern to join us in Raleigh, NC for the summer of 2020. In this role, you will help us develop excellent learning experiences and deliver strategy, solutions, and governance designed to support all Red Hatters in taking action based on data. You’ll also help us design online and instructor-led training covering a large range of topics related to data, including reading and interpreting visual data, data storytelling, artificial intelligence (AI), basic statistical courses, and data-informed decision making. As an Instructional Design Intern, you will work to increase awareness of these training offerings across the company. As a member of the larger EDA strategy team, you will have an opportunity to showcase your design and development skills to create relevant, impactful training that will help enhance Red Hat’s data-informed culture.
Primary job responsibilities
Work with EDA’s learning and development manager and others to create online and instructor-led learning materials in support of Red Hat’s Data Literacy program
Create training to support other EDA initiatives, including development of technical software training
Contribute to communication assets to market EDA initiatives within the organization, including newsletters, intranet content, emails, etc.
Create graphic assets for training and communications materials
Ability to work full-time hours during summer 2020 in the location listed
Currently enrolled in a graduate-level program related to the internship
Experience with one or more authoring tools, e.g., Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, etc.
Proven ability to develop instructionally sound materials through the use of instructional systems design methodology, including ADDIE, Dick and Carey, iterative design, Kemp, etc.
Deep knowledge of current and emerging adult learning theory and how it is put into practice in corporate learning
Knowledge of methods for assessing quality of learning experience, specifically Kirkpatrick’s 4 levels of evaluation or Phillips's 5 levels of evaluation
Excellent writing skills; creation of new content and editing the work of others
Ability to work with geographically distributed and agile teams
Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
Background in statistics, data, or IT is a plus
