Job summary

The Red Hat Customer Experience and Engagement (CEE) team is looking for a Training Content Developer to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you’ll design and develop training content that focuses on professional development, internal processes, and onboarding for CEE associates. You will collaborate with subject matter experts, project stakeholders, and partner with the training program manager to design training programs that align to the CEE strategic initiatives. You'll work in a fast-paced environment where flexibility and time management skills are key to your success.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Design and develop learning materials in accordance with established design models for instructor and virtual instructor-led training, self-paced training, and other learning-related materials

  • Design training materials and assessments in adherence to brand standards

  • Consult with various teams within the CEE organization on training best practices, learning objectives, and general training strategies

  • Work with other content developers to develop improved processes, tooling, and quality assurance testing as needed

  • Review previously published modules and update based on current learner needs

  • Communicate visually and apply knowledge of graphics design principles to designing graphics and content layout; write training scripts, and shoot and edit video or audio

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • 3-5 years of related instructional design and development experience

  • Ability to design, develop, and organize training content into traditional classroom and eLearning modalities

  • Multimedia design experience, with intermediate skills in graphic design, audio, and video

  • Foundational web development experience; experience with GitBook is a plus

  • Creative, motivated, and capable of working independently as well as part of a globally distributed team without daily supervision

  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills and cross-functional relationship building skills

  • Experience working with learning management systems; familiarity with SCORM and Git is a plus

  • Highly motivated and eager to learn new tools and processes quickly with little guidance or documentation

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
