The Red Hat Management Business Unit team is looking for a technically and security-oriented Product Manager to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will guide the definition and delivery of Red Hat's identity management technologies, Red Hat Directory Server, Red Hat Certificate System, and additional platform-focused security capabilities. Working as part of a large cross-functional team, you will synthesize inputs from customers, field teams, competitive analyses, and market research to generate product roadmaps, plan portfolio integrations, lead release planning, and continually engage with development to ensure successful releases of our offerings. You will serve as a representative of the overall product team, fostering confidence and excitement among customers, internal stakeholders, and the broader product team.
Primary job responsibilities
Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap and delivery plan in support of solving market and customer problems
Prioritize technical activities of the product team, including driving feature and defect grooming processes
Responsible for overall realization aspects of software delivery for the product unit
Work with other program stakeholders to track and coalesce customer feedback, market data, and competitive solutions to ensure creation of an offering with a solid market fit
Define market problems and opportunities and promote customer personas, user stories, and business cases
Gain agreement among our internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate to align strategic and tactical roadmaps with Red Hat’s objectives, portfolio opportunities, and peer product strategies
Create and deliver product demonstrations and roadmap briefings to wide range of audiences in various forums
Ensure cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Support, Documentation, Marketing, and other teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget
3+ years of technological focus on identity and access management, authentication, certificate systems, cryptography, or other security-related technology areas
3+ years of experience within product management, product marketing, program management, project management, or software delivery functions
3+ years of cooperating with larger enterprise customers from an engineering, software development, service delivery, support delivery, product definition, or even potentially a sales role
Technical degree in engineering, computer science, or a related area
Ability to think strategically and tactically to deliver releases of offerings on time
Proven record of persuading others without having direct authority over them
Ability to cultivate team flexibility under changing conditions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to author blogs, develop and deliver presentations, and serve as a spokesperson for our offerings
Solid interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams and motivate others
Familiarity and previous participation with agile development processes is a plus
Pragmatic Marketing Certification is a plus
