RedHat Senior Financial Analyst in Raleigh, North Carolina

The Red Hat Revenue Forecasting team is looking for a Financial Analyst to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be a member of the Global Financial Planning and Analysis team. You will lead short-term and long-term revenue forecasting and planning, analyze our global performance, and support monthly and quarterly external and internal reporting. To be successful in this role, you'll need to clearly communicate solutions to complex financial matters to cross-functional teams in multiple geographies. As a Financial Analyst, you will need to have excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to think strategically and analytically with limited direct guidance. You should be detail-oriented with the ability to understand business and financial dynamics from a high level. This position provides a great opportunity to make a change in the direction of Red Hat’s revenue forecasting and analysis.
Primary job responsibilities
Lead fiscal year planning and monthly forecasting for subscription and consolidated revenue
Analyze global performance, both financial and other revenue KPIs, in alignment with business finance and regional revenue accounting teams
Develop an understanding of Red Hat’s global business model to identify financial trends and provide value-added analysis
Provide support to the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) consolidation manager for ad hoc requests and preparation of financial analysis for executives, as requested
Assist with the development of financial models and dashboards
Produce weekly revenue reporting, providing visibility into current performance and assessment against targets
Work with global revenue counterparts to review financial and transactional results and assess the potential effect on forecast
Increase productivity by developing automated reporting and forecasting tools that will integrate with the financial and operational tools used by the company
5+ years of progressive financial analysis or accounting experience, including modeling and forecasting; background in a technology field is a plus
Bachelor’s degree with solid understanding of applied accounting concepts, core financial statements, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); accounting or finance degree is preferred
Problem-solving and financial-modeling skills, including the ability to identify and quantify the business impact of opportunities with limited information
Motivated with a sense of personal accountability and excellent interpersonal skills
Demonstrated business insight, including cross-functional interdependencies, with an ability to think strategically and analytically
Ability to work extended hours during quarter-end close and forecasting cycles
The following are considered a plus:
Familiarity with revenue recognition standards (ASC 605/606)
Experience within the technology industry
Experience with SAP Business Objects, Oracle Hyperion, Salesforce.com (SFDC), and Tableau
