RedHat Senior Software Engineer - Pulp in Remote, Brazil

The Red Hat Satellite Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Pulp team. In this role, you will use your Python expertise to contribute to the upstream Pulp community and work on the productization of the project. You will collaborate with a distributed engineering team to ensure that Red Hat solutions reach market in a timely fashion with excellent quality. The domain for this project is application content management, so prior experience with this domain is a plus. This is a remote position located in Brazil or Europe. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities
Design and implement new features and contribute to upstream projects in Python
Submit patches for bug fixes to the community and review patches from other community members
Ensure that features and projects have adequate test coverage
Collaborate with a globally distributed technical team
Educate the team on new features through sprint reviews or small team presentations
Publicize the work the team is doing through blogs, web postings, or conference talks
5+ years of object-oriented software development experience
Experience developing in a Linux environment
Background of working with various deployment models, including cloud, virtualization, and shared data sets
The following are considered a plus:
Professional Python development experience
Ability to use relational databases like Postgres and MySQL
Experience with automated testing tools like JUnit, Mock, Jenkins, Selenium, or Nose
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a technology-related discipline
