RedHat Software Engineer - Openshift initiative in Remote, Czech Republic

The Red Hat OpenShift team is looking for a Software Engineer to help guide the continued progress of the Red Hat OpenShift offering by joining us as a Software Engineer in the Czech Republic, Poland, Spain, or Italy. In this role, you’ll become part of a team building a service that will change how development is done, with the use of the capacities of Red Hat technologies and services hosted in the cloud. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be excited about working in a fast-paced and sometimes chaotic environment, and aim at making our end users and customers more effective with every release. This is not the typical 9 to 5 position; as a Software Engineer at Red Hat, you’ll become a key member of our OpenShift team. You should be curious, well-spoken, and motivated, with an inclusive personality and willingness to help make others successful. In addition, you should have a passion for technology and development, balanced with the responsibility of running a hosted service. You should also have excellent writing skills in English which you’ll use to communicate with other Red Hat OpenShift engineers located across the globe. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities
Contribute to the Red Hat OpenShift logging subsystem
Provide updates to key components within the Red Hat OpenShift logging infrastructure
Contribute design, changes, revisions, updates, and maintenance
Manage the resources and logging characteristics of the offering
Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Fedora
Familiarity with the Red Hat OpenShift and Linux logging components is a plus
Some familiarity with Kubernetes, CRI-O, Docker, Ansible, or other key components of Red Hat OpenShift is a plus
Programming experience in Go or Python
Experience with database environments like MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL (PostGres)
Experience with the following topics is a big plus:
Large-scale LAMP architectures and deployment techniques
Packaging management systems like RPM packages, RubyGems, etc.
