Red Hat Managing Architect - Active Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph Required in Remote, District Of Columbia

The Red Hat Public Sector Consulting team is looking for a Managing Architect to join us in support of the Intelligence Community. In this role, you will lead Consulting Architects in the adoption of Red Hat's solutions within key enterprise accounts, U.S. government national security programs, and service provider partners. As an Managing Architect, you'll play a contributing role in bringing together cross-functional teams from Red Hat's product business, product engineering, support, professional services, and sales teams to meet the needs of our most demanding customers as we support their agency missions and facilitate the conversion of customer vision to reality. You’ll serve as advisor and mentor to Architects within the Public Sector and help ensure their daily success as they support both pre-sales and billable technical delivery engagements and also win the trust and confidence of team members, customers, partners, sales teams, and executive team through in-person and remote interactions.

Residency within the greater DC/Maryland/Northern Virginia area is strongly preferred to facilitate onsite interactions with customers, partners, and internal delivery teams that are absolutely critical in the Intelligence Community space. An Active Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph is also required.

What you will do

  • Manage and mentor Architects within the North America Public Sector Services organization (NAPS)

  • Mentor, enable, and grow technical talent within a matrixed organization

  • Collaborate with Managing Architect peers as part of the NAPS Regional Pre-sales Practice and Solutions & Technology Practice (STP)

  • Develop strategic relationships with other managers and senior managers within Red Hat consulting and pre-sales organizations

  • Showcase your domain knowledge of Intelligence Community agencies

  • Contribute to the technical direction of the hiring and enablement programs within the organization

  • Provide routine and ad-hoc elevated awareness of regional trends as well as delivery and pre-sales activities to the NAPS regional pre-sales practice lead and STP director

  • Assign necessary technical talent to pre-sales opportunities

  • Provide technical direction of scoping consulting opportunities

  • Assist with the integration with the NAPS STP, business, Customer Experience and Engagement (CEE), and engineering teams

  • Develop relationships with key customer stakeholders at an executive level

  • Lead and manage internal projects

  • Individually and in coordination with other Architects, develop multi-year customer adoption roadmaps with clients at the program, agency, and sub-regional levels

  • On a per-program and per-agency basis, develop and maintain strategic awareness of major technical execution streams aligned with Red Hat consulting delivery teams, along with formulating value-add risks and recommendations to be communicated both internally and to customer stakeholders

  • In coordination with Red Hat delivery and account teams, monitor sales trends and customer interest across programs, agencies, and the national security program sub-region Formulate recommendations and collaborate with account team and delivery team leads, along with other public sector Architect Managers to enable our technical resources to meet current and anticipated customer demands across our technical product and delivery solutions portfolio

  • Showcase superb whiteboarding and communication skills

  • Condense complex design requirements into statement-of-work and approach documents

  • Connect technical requirements to business requirements in scoping, discovery session, etc. and ensure that from a technical delivery perspective, major execution streams and delivery milestones are clearly connected to customer mission objectives and specific return-on-investment

  • Support technical escalations for engagements within a territory

What you will bring

  • 5+ years leadership experience overseeing technical teams, scoping opportunities, and coordinating resources for the delivery of projects

  • Currently hold and must be able to maintain an active TS/SCI with full scope polygraph security clearance

  • Residence in the greater DC/Maryland/Northern Virginia area to facilitate onsite visits with IC region clientele is strongly preferred

  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. National Security Programs and how Red Hat has been leveraged from a technical planning and execution perspective via consulting services to achieve agency and program-level mission objectives

  • Experience leading and supporting Day-1 and Day-2 consulting technical delivery in Internet-disconnected customer environments - to include necessary adaptations of vendor software installation and long-term operations and maintenance procedures

  • Experience working closely with sales teams, senior-level managers, Architect Managers, and Enterprise Architects to work on long-range plans for consulting services for the overall account success

  • Experience coordinating with senior managers and delivery architects to resolve customer escalations as they arise

  • Experience working with a project management office, business teams, technical support, and solutions and technology practice teams to gather lessons learned from the field and establish remediation plans to shape future projects and account success

  • Experience mentoring pre-sales and delivery architects in skills needed to find opportunities to position consulting services and offerings within their accounts

  • Experience collaborating with senior managers and regional directors to assist with go-to-market strategies that align with sales initiatives to increase the presence of Architects in a territory/market and enhance the overall technical expertise on these accounts

  • Successfully provided organizational or business impact through cross-functional internal project leadership

  • Experience with business-to-technical translation critical to communicating and collaborating with customer executive stakeholders

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Experienced in people management or team leadership and building out a highly functioning team of consulting experts

  • Ability to travel to current and prospective clients; 25% - 50% annually

  • Billable customer utilization target of 25% annually

  • Degree in computer science or a technical discipline

The salary range for this position is $138,350 - $228,310. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
