Job summary

The Red Hat Asia Pacific (APAC) Deal Desk team is looking for a Deal Desk Analyst to join us in Singapore. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating non-standard deal approval, including reviewing proposals, quotations, and proposed bills of materials to ensure they are reasonable and accurate. As a trusted advisor to the Sales team and various stakeholders, you will analyze contracts and document all non-standard terms to ensure that they comply with state and federal laws and corporate policies and regulations. You’ll serve as the key point of contact for matters related to handling contracts and agreements and associated systems. As a Deal Desk Analyst, you will track and ensure that all records are accurate and up to date. You’ll provide stakeholders with oversight on project progress through reports and support governance processes. You will highlight any issues or escalations within the agreed-upon timeframe and you’ll support request for information (RFI) queries for the APAC Deal Desk team.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Interact closely with Sales and cross-functionally to support approvals for large deals, quarter close activities, compliance processes, and reporting

  • Manage fast-paced, time sensitive projects and facilitate deal structuring of non-standard and complex deals while aligning with corporate policies, programs, and systems

  • Support the Deal Desk, Legal, and Revenue teams on contract reviews and revisions

  • Draft business terms language for non-standard terms as required

  • Support the Legal or Deal Desk teams with queries concerning agreement dates, contract information, and authorized signatory queries

  • Review global signatory policies, practices, and documentation to ensure they stay relevant

  • Assist with tracking, research, analysis, metrics, and basic contract review

  • Provide support for low-touch deal or RFI queries for the Deal Desk team when needed

  • Support quotation approval processes and functions

  • Manage and ensure that subsequent quotations to customers are within the respective approval threshold range and comply with both commercial customer requirements and internal business policies

  • Provide resolution of quotation and pricing issues; track down all the approval requests and promptly close any outstanding approval requests in the system according to an agreed-upon service-level agreement (SLA) in turning around timeline

  • Respond to day-to-day quotation approval requirements, update status, and raise any open issues to the relevant parties for resolution within the agreed-upon timeline

  • Review approval impacts to the account as a result of any modification of existing contracts and systematic changes

  • Work with the Account and Deal Desk teams on mass update exercises in updating contractual pricing and discounts after renewal of contract; check to ensure that correct prices are updated in the system

  • Generate an ad hoc report and analysis of discount trends and pricing changes on a monthly basis

  • Support the tracking and reporting requirements of the Deal Desk project management function

  • Work with deal desk project owners to collate and review project status reports and project dashboard to track deliverables; ensure timely updates of the transformation steering committees and a monthly project management update

  • Track, analyze and monitor project portfolio schedule and benefits on a monthly basis to ensure that projects are on track and that any issues can be quickly escalated

  • Collaborate with the Business Readiness and Data Readiness teams to track progress of each project and post-implementation reviews

  • Support the implementation and deployment of project management tools within the team

  • Establish and maintain a central Project Management Office (PMO) filing system; ensure that all key documentation is maintained and shared

Required skills

  • 3+ years of progressively more responsible analytical experience; experience with the IT environment and familiarity with the software subscription model or buying program is a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, computer science, or a related field

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Outstanding attention to detail in order to spot inconsistencies in contracts

  • Familiarity with operations, order processing, fulfilment, revenue recognition, legal contracts, purchase orders, and subscription agreements

  • Well-developed organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities

  • Ability to establish goals and action plans, set realistic timetables, and monitor progress toward completion in a fast-paced environment

  • Familiarity with bid and tender management; prior knowledge of and relevant experience responding to RFIs and RFPs, preferably in an IT industry or within a multinational corporation MNC

  • Proficient language skills in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean are a plus

  • Experience with DocuSign, Salesforce.com (SFDC), and Oracle is a plus
