The Red Hat ASEAN Marketing team is looking for a PR and Communications Manager for the ASEAN region to join us in Singapore. In this role, you will help create and carry out communications programs to support the ASEAN business and provide strategic communications counsel to ensure consistent delivery of messaging and brand. You will serve as the point of contact between internal stakeholders and external PR agencies. As part of this role, you will work closely with the field marketing team in ASEAN and also work in collaboration with the Asia Pacific (APAC) Regional Demand Center (RDC), Corporate Marketing, Sales teams, and PR agencies. As a PR and Communications Manager, you'll need to be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver exceptional work on message, on brand, and on time.
Primary job responsibilities
Work with key internal stakeholders to understand the business and marketing initiatives to develop and implement the communications strategy aligned with business objectives
Work with APAC PR Manager and Field Marketing Manager to support in-country PR activities and communications updates to stakeholders and internal teams
Work with PR agencies to create and execute integrated campaigns supporting key priorities
Foster relationships with editors and journalists with a focus on business and broadcast media, as well as information technology (IT) and vertical media
Manage the communications updates and media briefings for high-profile corporate events like Red Hat Summit, Red Hat Forum, and C-level events
Work with marketing team, PR agencies, customers, and internal stakeholders to help develop customer reference stories and communication assets
Collaborate with teams and manage multiple, simultaneous projects in a timely manner with additional duties to be assigned as required
5-7+ years of PR and communications experience, preferably in the ASEAN region
Bachelor's degree or higher in public relations, journalism, communications, or similar field
Prior experience in the enterprise software or IT industry
Experience working with agencies, media, and customers for communication assets and customer reference stories
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; experience developing and editing materials in support of PR activities, like press releases, pitches, bylined articles, and PR plans
Social and digital capabilities with a solid understanding of new communication techniques
Proactive with the ability to work on multiple projects with changing priorities in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment with minimum supervision
Ability to effectively understand business goals and strategies to create communications programs and strategically support them
Ability to generate opportunities for Red Hat through creative, proactive PR efforts, involving traditional and social media channels
Ability to effectively manage internal stakeholders and external agencies
Ability to build and maintain great relationships with Red Hat's PR team, agencies, field marketers, and global PR counterparts
Practical media relations skills with existing relationships and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key media and target bloggers
Familiarity with marketing tactics, creative processes, and digital marketing in order to complement and support traditional media practices to achieve PR results
