Job summary

The Red Hat Marketing team is looking for an experienced Corporate Event and Executive Program Marketing Manager to join us in Tokyo, Japan. In this role, you will play an important part in the planning, development, and implementation of Red Hat’s corporate events and C-level programs for both customers and partners. As part of the Marketing team, you will aim to collaborate with, connect, and excite the attendees of these events, transforming the attendee experience and ensuring that all Red Hat’s events run smoothly. In addition, you will promote Red Hat’s values, brand, and suite of solutions. You’ll need to be highly motivated, have positive attitude and the ability to handle multiple priorities at once, and be results-oriented with great communication skills.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Plan and manage corporate-wide event programs and C-level-targeted event and workshop programs, aligning these with business and marketing strategies and priorities

  • Organize and implement a vendor request for proposal (RFP) process

  • Develop and maintain project timelines and guide regular project meetings to ensure alignment with event implementation schedule

  • Manage event registration; work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to develop codes, attendance models, tracking documents, detailed reports, and full event microsites

  • Research, evaluate, manage, and build relationships with vendors to achieve best results within budgets

  • Manage the attendee experience, ensuring that the overall conference themes and current look and feel are consistent and aligned with the global or Asia Pacific (APAC) guidance

  • Communicate between the global, regional, and field teams, providing timely updates via conference calls or in-person presentations

  • Use digital tactics combined with F2F tactics when creating hybrid event programs

  • Work closely with various stakeholders to keep event production within the allocated budget

  • Plan and implement follow-up programs for maximizing lead and pipeline generation, collaborating with related teams

Required skills

  • Highly creative in conceptualizing and facilitating unique event experience

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field

  • 5+ years of related regional B2B event experience

  • Experience managing 1000+ mass information technology (IT) or business events

  • Business acumen and good understanding of enterprise business strategies and viewpoints

  • Good understanding of enterprise IT solutions and value propositions

  • Solid communication and persuasive skills across all levels of internal stakeholders

  • Meticulous, flexible, resourceful, creative, and highly organized; great problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage budget and resources considering business and marketing priorities

  • Willingness to participate in Red Hat’s culture and reinforce Red Hat’s core values

  • Passionate about the event industry and making customers feel valued and appreciated

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams

  • Ability to quickly understand complex issues, then develop and apply simplifying frameworks to facilitate a broader organizational understanding, decision-making, and actions

  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and work within deadlines

  • Able to work on your own and under pressure

  • Willingness to travel as needed

  • Experience with Salesforce.com (SFDC) and Eloqua is a plus
