The Red Hat Localization team is looking for an experienced Technical Translator with Japanese language skills to join us in Tokyo, Japan. In this role, you will be responsible for the translations, reviews, and quality assurances of Red Hat’s software user interfaces and the documentation that teaches Red Hat’s customers how to use the software we produce. You’ll need to collaborate with subject matter experts in and out of Japan, as well as with other translators working in the area of your language expertise.
Primary job responsibilities
Localize user interfaces for Red Hat’s software products from English into Japanese
Localize documentation that teaches customers how to use Red Hat’s products and solutions from English into Japanese
Work with technical experts to correct and improve localized Japanese content
Collaborate on translation projects with other Red Hat translators and external translation agencies
Review translations and provide feedback to peers and external translators
Professional or advanced-level translation abilities with solid writing skills in Japanese
Ability to communicate at a professional level in written and oral English
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate with a global, cross-functional team
Prior experience with localizing software user interfaces and documentation from English to Japanese
Ability to research information technology (IT) topics to ensure accurate and high-quality translations
Familiarity with translation management systems
