The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Lead Development Representative to join us in Canada, preferably in Toronto. In this role, you will team up with experienced field sales account managers to enable sales growth for new customers. You will generate qualified leads for the sales account managers, help build pipeline, identify customer issues, gather their technology data, build attendance to marketing events, and allow the field sales account managers to focus on closing business. You'll be responsible for outbound prospecting and will be measured by how effective you move leads into appoints and into the pipeline. You will be tasked with meeting the demands of a new kind of buyer, who primarily lives online, behind the telephone and is difficult to get to. These buyers form opinions before speaking to vendors based on the information they uncover online, through crowdsourcing or via referrals. You'll have to develop a deep understanding of their challenges and business in order to get their attention. As a Lead Development Representative, you'll be an integral part of the sales team and our lead of the account. You'll need to think and react quickly, as well as excel in having online conversations. In addition, you should be a great content finder with a positive attitude and an ability to get attention and handle difficult interactions with ease. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities
Generate new business opportunities in your assigned region
Update and manage pipeline growth activity and forecast against lead generation and pipeline metrics
Schedule appointments and other activities as requested by your field sales account manager
Keep detailed and accurate notes of all sales-related activities in our customer contact database; schedule follow-up activities as needed
Update and manage the pipeline and prepare revenue forecasts
Follow up on marketing and sales program-generated leads
Work closely with your field and inside sales counterparts on the account strategy
Communicate with marketing managers on program results, both quantitative and qualitative
Master portfolio solutions through whiteboards, customer simulations, and presentations
Meet and exceed quarterly goals
2+ years of inside sales or lead generation experience
Ability to think and react quickly
Ability to communicate effectively online
Ability to handle difficult interactions with ease
