Job summary

The Red Hat Middleware Business team is looking for a Principal Product Manager to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you will be responsible for key feature and functionality definition within Red Hat’s Integration offerings, focusing primarily on data integration. You’ll collaborate closely with the members of the product management and product marketing teams to shape customer needs and market information into requirements for our offerings. As a Principal Product Manager, you will work with product development and engineering teams to determine priorities, plan releases, and define product and feature road maps for our offerings.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis and collect customer requirements

  • Analyze market dynamics, trends, and requirements and develop requirements for our offerings

  • Collaborate with product managers and product marketers to identify areas for further analysis and definition

  • Prepare technical content like presentations and white papers to facilitate go-to-market activities

  • Work within a multidisciplinary product team to efficiently deliver releases of our offerings

  • Work across product teams to guide cross-product interoperability and multi-product use-cases

  • Support launching new releases of our offerings to the market in close collaboration with the Product Marketing team

  • Provide sales support for advanced sales opportunities

  • Provide technical training for our offerings to professional services consultants, sales engineers, and solutions architects

  • Serve as a point of contact with the upstream, open source communities that promote Red Hat’s middleware offerings

Required skills

  • 3-6 years of experience in product management roles within commercial software companies

  • Experience with and appreciation for working on teams with diverse opinions and perspectives

  • Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative information into recommendations and requirements

  • Understanding of software marketing strategy and product positioning

  • Solid understanding of software and application development processes

  • Solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Experience with data integration technologies and capabilities like ETL, data virtualization, SQL, RDBMS, NoSQL and non-relational data stores, and big data solutions

  • Experience with enterprise integration technologies and capabilities like HTTP, REST, APIs, service architectures, transformation, and mapping

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in computer science or engineering; MBA is a plus

The following are considered a plus:

  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native architecture

  • Experience with Java programming and with the open source community processes

  • Experience working as a software developer or architect
